Bayahibe, located to the south of the Dominican Republic, is surrounded by the waters of the Caribbean Sea, is characterized by its good visibility and excellent diving conditions throughout the year.
When we arrive to Bayahibe, we will prepare the diving equipment and we will go to dive by boat in two differents groups:
Viva Shallow is a perfect dive site for beginners and for divers passionate about underwater photography. As the name suggests, this dive site is quite shallow (5 – 9 m / 15 – 27 ft) but the area is inhabited by a large number of stingrays, lobsters, Moray eels, octopuses and many other underwater creatures. Even the more experienced divers enjoy a dive at Viva Shallow because it is so rich in marine life.
The more experienced divers on the excursion will do their first dive at the famous St. George Wreck. This is one of the most popular dive sites in Bayahibe and in the Dominican Republic in general, the wreck is located at a depth of 44 m / 144 ft, but the top of the wreck is only at 15 m / 50 ft.
This artificial reef has been underwater since 1999 and it is richly inhabited by many different species of marine life, including barracudas. During the dive you will see schools of differents types of fish swimming around and we are sure you will enjoy exploring the wreck and all its rooms (penetration of the wreck is reserved to most experienced divers).
After the first dive, the group will go to dive all together at Atlantic Princess shipwreck
The Atlantic Princess has been underwater for about 6 or 7 years and it is located at about 12 m / 40 ft depth, so it is a really nice dive spot for Open Water divers as well as for the more experienced divers, the wreck is richly inhabited by several types of fish, from lion fish to small crabs and small stingrays. You won’t be disappointed.
At the end of the second dive we return at Bayahibe where we take a Sandwich and we will return to our hotel.
The diver can prove their certification whenever it is requested. If you are not yet certified, you can choose between the DSD (Discover Scuba Diving) program or one of our PADI/SSI dive courses.
In the case of wanting to dive on Bayahibe you should take the corresponding theoretical classes and pool sessions one day before the activity.
All dives are always done under the supervision of an Instructor or Divemaster
