The Dominican Republic is one of the most popular diving destinations in the world. The Caribbean Sea offers beginner divers the perfect conditions to get their training in calm, tropical water. For the certified divers there are a large range of things to see. From walls that drop down to what seems to be infinity to colorful reefs filled with life as well as some interesting shipwrecks. There are many dive spots all along the island but the most beautiful place for diving in Bayahibe. Bayahibe boasts around 16 dive spots to explore so even the most experienced dives never gets bored.
The Dominican Republic is one of the largest islands in the Caribbean and therefore shows off many different sceneries with all kinds of excursions and activities. A day trip to Saona Island is definitely something not to be missed and for the divers Catalina Island wall and Aquarium are a must. Between January and March the Humpback Whales come to mate in the Samana Bay which offers the perfect opportunity to see these majestic animals up close and personal and in action as the males try to impress the females with their jumping and tail slapping on the water. These are only a few of the countless things to do in the Dominican Republic.

Would HIGHLY recommend a tour/excursion through Scubaquatic (which is in our hotel lobby)- I did a full day scuba excursion to Catalina Island and my wife snorkeled- it was fantastic, well organized, and very professional, and a great lunch on Catalina. I can’t speak on any other tours but as a newer diver- I felt safe, respected, and it was a good deal for what we paid... Juan was an excellent divemaster.
Did Catalina Diving everything ok. The spots are reasonable the aquarium very relaxing dive. We found Catalina better than Saona
Great diving, great guide, some challenges around boat management and organisation
Had a great time diving with Frederick the dive guide. Some challenges on one occasion with boat management that could have been dealt with in a more professional and more customer oriented manner by the site lead.
