Catalina island is a natural park in Dominican Republic, is located to one hour far from Bavaro city approx. The pick up are in buses with air conditioned in the lobby of your hotel.
During the trip a certified guide will explain the culture of the area, farm, traditions of the people and other facts. we are going to make an stop in a gift shop before we get on the boat. Here we can use the bathhrooms or buy anything we could forget in the hotel.
Our adventure begins with a cruise along the Chavon river. We will sail along the coast of luxury resort Casa de Campo and you will get the chance to get a sneak peek of the villas of the rich and famous that live or spend their vacation at the resort. During the sailing trip we will serve snacks and drinks on board.
At the end of the cruise we will take you to the stunning reef that surrounds Catalina Island, where you will have time to do some snorkeling. We will stay here for about 40 minutes, during which you will have the chance to explore the reef and see the wonderful marine life that inhabits it. On the boat we will provide life vests, masks with snorkel and flippers.
During the snorkeling we will have a "beginners" group, which will swim close to the boat with a guide always present. The "experienced snorkelers" group will be swimming around the reef and will also have a guide following at all times.
At the end of the snorkeling time, the crew will offer you alcoholics drinks, then the boat will stop at Catalina island and we will have a typical Dominican lunch on the beach and you will have about 3 hours to enjoy Catalina and explore the beach on your own.
At the end of the day we will get back onboard our catamaran, we will sail back to the starting point of the excursion and then go back to the hotel.
